Last Thursday, she had an ophthalmologist appointment and there is still no change with her eyes so now she doesn't have to go back for 3 months. She was going every week for a while, then every 2 weeks since she was 1 month old. If her eyes are still good after 3 months, then it will be 6 months and then once a year.
Aimee had low sodium for about 3 months. They finally were able to take her off sodium supplements in December. Her pediatrician wanted to send her to a Nephrologist just to check if there was a problem with her kidneys. She had an ultrasound on her kidneys and saw the Nephrologist on Friday. Her kidneys are working fine and they are a proper size. The doctor said they were probably just not matured enough when she was born since she was so early. No follow-up needed with the Nephrologist.
Today Aimee saw the Cardiologist. Aimee has an ASD (atrial septal defect) which is basically a hole in her heart. It's moderate sized, but it is still not affecting her in any way. They said they probably won't have to do anything for at least 3-4 years and it could possibly close on it's own. Same with her umbilical hernia, it should go away on it's own by 3-4 years.
